![]() Signing of a roll-out agreement for the equipment of all the French hypermarkets of the Auchan Group
Store Electronic Systems(SES) won, in association with its partner Wincor Nixdorf, Auchan's competitive bid for the equipment of its 115 French hypermarkets.
The agreement amounts to a total of more than 4 millions Electronic Shelf Labels (ESL) to be installed within a 15 months period; installations will start at the end of the second quarter 2008. The agreement also includes the conditions of a potential extention to other brands of the Auchan Group or to Auchan's hypermarkets abroad. The Auchan Group is a leader of mass-retailing in France and abroad through its activities of Hypermarkets, Supermarkets, Real Estate and Banking. The Group operates a total of 1 122 hypermarkets and supermarkets in 12 differents countries. Before selecting SES to equip its French hypermarkets, Auchan has conducted a log and thorough selection process. After organizing a competitive bid with the different electronic shelf labels suppliers, the Group has installed and compared two of the main technologies available on the market. The SES solution has been evaluated in great detail in 2 pilot stores, for a relevant amont of time. Philippe Catteau, a Director and founder of Store Electronic Systems declared: "Being selected by Auchan after such a detailed and professional process, covering both the functionalities of our system as well as its performance regarding operational running costs, constitutes a true consecration for our Product.
